N3024 fan and power supply issues

Hi

I am running two N3024 with firmware 6.5.1.3, not stacked.  I have been having a issue with these switches reporting false fan and power supply alerts after 1-2 days of a reboot.  They run fine after the reboot and then the trapmgr messages start appearing.  I also see a message stating "warn insert_optics: optics sfp inserted in Gi1/0/23.  I don't have any SFP modules.

Any help or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

I think I figured out the issue.  For some reason, I cannot keep serial cable plugged into them for a extended amount of time.  I unplugged them and the issue has not come back for two weeks now.

I noticed a new 6.5.1.6 firmware became available in June.  That is probably the first thing to upgrade and try to see if it fixes one or more issues.  Are you seeing the same three trap messages (power, fan, optic) on both N3024 switches, or do you see two on one switch and the other trap on the other switch?  What exact power and fan alerts to do see?  Changes can frequently occur with power and fans.  In order to not see every alert, you can customize the level you want to see (from emergencies to information only) from the CLI or web UI.

Hope this helps!

And this does occur on both.   I will take a look at the latest firmware to see if it fixes it.  I have already been through 3 different firmware revision that state a fan issue and a fix but it hasn't fixed it for me.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue on n3024?

Could a UPS cause this issue?

If the UPS were going bad and dropping power, I could see how it may affect the switch power supplies.
