Reassign untagged access ports from VLAN 1

Hello. I have a stack of two N3048 switches.

I'd like to use VLAN segregation and routing and have created VLAN 40, however it doesn't appear to route to VLAN 1 and I have read that the VLAN 1 is reserved and can not be used like this.

So my question is: is it safe to move untagged access ports from VLAN 1 to something else, and will this enable VLAN routing?

What is the most efficient way to do this?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I already have:

VLAN Name

1 default Po1-128, Gi1/0/1-48, Te1/0/1-2, Te1/1/1-2, Gi2/0/1-21,
Gi2/0/23-26, Gi2/0/35, Gi2/0/37-48, Te2/0/1-2, Te2/1/1-2

3 VC Gi2/0/27-36

40 xLAN Gi2/0/22

Routing Interfaces:

Interface State IP Address IP Mask Method
---------- ----- --------------- --------------- -------
Vl1       Up 192.168.2.252 255.255.255.0 Manual
Vl40      Up 10.2.8.2      255.255.254.0 Manual
Vl3       Up 10.0.30.2     255.255.255.0 Manual

Re: Reassign untagged access ports from VLAN 1

Hi,

You should just be able to assign the ports to that vlan without any issues. Page 820 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_networking/esuprt_net_fxd...
