The switch support SR, LR, ER, and USR. Here are some links for those transceivers.

SR: http://dell.to/2BfcHkD
LR: http://dell.to/2BIJz6m
ER: http://dell.to/2BJxluD
USR: http://dell.to/2sep5hZ

How long is the run from the switch to the server?

For a short run like that, you could absolutely use a direct attach cable(DAC).

Thanks for the quick reply!

run is 6ft.

is it better to use built in cable in sfp+ transceiver or separate ones?

thanks again!

Please, if i may ask one more,

what 10GB NIC would you recommend for the T630 for DAC cabling.

thanks!

Yes, you could bond both ports on the same card. Then connect that bond to two switch interfaces.

thanks again!

any reason why i would get a two port card if im only connecting to a switch (and not peer to peer)? could i bond two links to the switch and use one ip address? (link aggregation/nic teaming seem to refer on bonding two nics not two physical ports on a single nic?

hello,

Mellanox-ConnectX-2

hello would this network card be appropriate to connect the PE T630 to the X1052 using a DAC cable?

DAC

is this dac cable compatible with the X1052?

Looking at the specs on those parts, it would seem that they should work. But I don't have any validation documentation for 3rd party parts, which means I cannot guarantee that they are compatible and will work.
