oushida,

Go to Dell Warranty Status enter your service tag number. See which Bluetooth adapter you have installed.

Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number and under network, you can download the bluetooth drivers for your system.

If you recently installed/reinstalled the operating system, installing the drivers in the correct order is Important. The Dell System Software and the chipset drivers first or the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Places to look and see if your Bluetooth Connection is enabled

oushida,

  • Download the System Information Tool If using Vista/Windows 7, the tool needs extracted. Once extracted, right click on sysinfo and run as administrator.

If using XP, double click on the tool, then double click on sysinfo.

Allow this past your virus program and post the information back here.

oushida,

Does you bluetooth now work?

I have seen these errors in the device manager when trying to pair a cell phone or other device. The error is from that device because you do not have the factory software for that device installed.

Right click on the device, then remove it.

Restart your computer. Does the error come back?

oushida,

I sent a file from my Dell XPS L501x to my daughters cell phone. I could send but I saw these errors in the device manager. If I would go to the manufacturers website, I could install their software and drivers and everything would go away.

I'm not sure what happened.

What do you have that is not working properly?

Check your virus program firewall settings? I have this say it's for printers but it's actually for the firewall settings. Allow Printer past Eset NOD32

1- go to device manager.

2- right click on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" that you want.

3- select "Update Driver Software...".

4- choose "Browse my computer for driver software".

5- choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

6- select "Ports (COM & LPT)".

7- select "Microsoft" at "Manufacturer" list.

8- finally select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"

oushida,

The reason why we see these 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' in Windows 7 is cos of the missing Windows Mobile Device Center. Once this patch/update is installed this should fix the problem. Older mobile devices have compatibility issues with Windows 7.

Try installing this -> www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

And let me know how it goes.
