Bluetooth connection and pairing

Before connecting and pairing, please download the latest Bluetooth drivers from Dell Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. The Bluetooth drivers can be found under Networking

Places to look to see if your Bluetooth Connection is enabled

 

Click on start, in search type

Hit enter. This will put the bluetooth icon in the system tray, near the clock.

 

Bluetooth can be enabled/disabled there.

 

Removing Bluetooth Devices and/or Bluetooth Problem Devices

 

Right click on the Bluetooth Icon in the system tray, near the clock, left click, show Bluetooth devices.

 

You should see a list of Bluetooth Devices.

 

Right click on the Bluetooth devices that are not used or the problem Bluetooth Device(s), then click remove device.

 

 

Pairing a Bluetooth Device

 

Make sure the device you wat to pair has the bluetooth turned on and is discoverable.

***NOTE*** Some Bluetooth devices come with a software disk and/or need software from the manufacturers website to install properly

 

On your computer, click on add device.

 

Click on the Bluetooth Device, then click next.

 

You will see a pairing code to enter on the Bluetooth device.

 

Enter the pairing code, then click on pair.

 

The computer will pair with the device and install the drivers that are on your Operating System.

***Additional drivers/software ma need installed from the Bluetooth Device manufacturers website***

 

Some virus programs and firewalls may block communications.

 

Additional Information

 

Right click on the Bluetooth Icon in the system tray, near the clock

 

Left click on show Bluetooth Devices

 

You will then see a list of Bluetooth Devices

 

Right click on the Bluetooth Device, then left click on Properties

  

 

Click on the Services Tab

 

Check all the boxes in this section, click apply, then ok.

 

Right click on the Bluetooth Icon in the system tray, near the clock, left click show Bluetooth Devices.

 

Double click on the Bluetooth Device. You should now see the Bluetooth Control Panel.

 

You can change the Bluetooth settings there.
