Dell 1502 wireless card driver won't install on my Alienware X51, tried almost everything!
After a clean install of Windows 7-64 bit on my Alienware X51 R1 system and installing the drivers so far in the correct order, I can't install the driver for the wireless b/g/n card which is the WLAN1502_Setup_ZPE driver. I keep getting the message which is something alongthe lines of "The installer can not run on this platform." Everything worked perfectly before the clean install, I am fairly experienced with computers and this seems bizarre especially after the same wifi card is in there and all drivers have been installed in exactly the correct order? I have tried manual installation of the driver rough device manager yet this drives the same results, and Device Manager the wireless card is clearly showing as unrecognisable?

Does it display in the device manager as a network controller? Is the hardware ID?

I have checked the hardware ID after correctly following the link you gave me and it says in the value box within the "Hardware ID" tab of the device properties:
In device manager the wifi card is listed under "Other devices" as "Network Controller" with a yellow symbol that shows an exclamation mark next to it.
