Dell Inspiron 15 5548: Wifi Hangs requiring hard reboot
About once per day my wifi loses connection and I have to hard reset to re-enable it. I thought it was a faulty AC3160 wifi card so I replaced it with a new one but problem persists. All drivers are the latest. I'm connecting to an ASUS RT AC66R which is also running current firmware and I get the problem on both 2.4 and 5 MHz.
When the wifi hangs and I try to disable the card the process hangs. Normal shutdown or restart does not work because the system won't shut down without a hard shutdown (holding down power button).
In a last ditch effort I'm connecting to a slower router to see if it might be an interaction issue with the ASUS but that wouldn't explain the failure to shutdown.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I figured it out. The loss of wifi was a symptom not the problem. Root cause was Malwarebytes pinning CPU at high percentage. When MWB was killed everything returned to sanity.
