Dell Inspiron 1525 Wifi/wireless reader fault.

Hi all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and when I revived it from years of neglect I have come across a problem that I cannot connect to a wifi connection.
I know that in order for the wifi to be found the wireless in my laptop has to be turned on, however the light on the side does not switch on.
So far I have installed drivers and even bought a new wireless WLAN card...
And still it does not work.
The laptop runs fine with wired connection but I want to use wireless, so can anyone help me? What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this?

-Thanks

-Sebastian

Hi Rick,

I have followed the given instructions for checking the BIOS and Windows mobility centre,

However, I still cannot find the problem to this...

I could not even see an option for wireless on the mobility centre.

Would there be anymore help you or anyone else could provide?

Seb

Seb,

What operating system is installed? Vista or XP?

Can you try running the Finding System Information Tool and post the information back here.
