Dell Inspiron DW1501 wireless problem

I have a Dell Inspiron 5010 with the DW1501 wireless card and I have a D-Link DIR-655  router.

No matter which settings I try on the wireless card and on the router the highest speed I can achieve is 65Mbps.

I've tried sitting next to the router and it gets better signal but no higher speed.

I've tried different channels and nothing seems to help.

Any ideas of what to try?

Same problems here with the Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N router, already use WPA2-PSK-AES and 40MHz channel and no matter what I set, it can only connected at 65Mbps.  According to Dell's DW User Guide, it should able to connect at 130Mbps. Should I request for a replacement?

I'm having the same problem with my Dell Inspiron N5010 and the DW1501 wireless mini-card. I purchased this system from costco a few weeks ago. The highest speed I can get is 65 mbps, which is only slightly faster that 802.11g. BUMMER.

It will also not connect to a 5Ghz network. The only fix appears to be upgrading to DW1520 mini-card.

I to have a N5010 which the DW1501 card is only working at 65 mbps. Just come off the phone with dell support which has taken all morning.

They are sending an engineer to replace the card with a better one - Intel 6200

It has cost me £25 for the card but free engineer. Didn't want to pay anything but gave in and it should be all sorted on Monday.

PS

Wish I could charge them for the 2 hours I will never get back!!

DW1501 is a usless card that isn't an N card but single channle and a maximum speed of 72Mb all I get is about 10Mbps. The best thing is to take the laptop back

hello,

I resolved my problem in two ways:

1st - In the properties of the IP address rather than put an automatic fixed.

2nd - In the DW1501 card configuration in the properties put on the main antenna diversity.

My Dell works very fast at this time.
