Hi vinutha

Please follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Perform a system restore to a known good date and then perform a McAfee update and  then choose windows update. When you go to windows update and check for updates  , Look for Windows malicious software removal tool and right click on it and hide the update and run all the other updates.

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - August 2012 (KB890380)

2. Change the Security Level under Firewall options to Full access (Details in the email thread) and run McAfee update
3. Disable the Bonjour service if Apple iTunes was installed on the machine (Details in the link below Workaround 1 )

service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx

4. Reset your network connection( Details in the link below Workaround 2 )

5. If all the above fails , uninstall McAfee completely and reinstall  McAfee using the link below provided the customer has registered for the product earlier , Else download McAfee from My Dell Downloads as per entitlements

home.mcafee.com/.../Login.aspx
