Dell Mobile Broadband Wireless (Verizon) Config on Windows 7 Solved!

Thanks to all who posted regarding this issue.  I have a M2300 with the built in Novatel card for Verizon.  I have been unable to install the DMBCU under Windows 7.  The install always rolls back.

The solution (atleast for me) turned out to be ridiculously simple.

If Windows 7 recongized the  chip, it would show up as "Novatel Wirelss CDMA"  in the devices section.

1. Create a new "Dial Up Connection"

2,  Set the Dialing phone number to *99#

That is it!  Connect using that connection.

Full credit due to the hint I found at

Good luck.

Just an FYI - the DMBCU works just fine in Win 7 beta x64 when you troubleshoot compatibility on it. I haven't tried the installer on Win7 RC1 x32 yet, but maybe it works now. It still works fine in Win7 x64 RC1 compatibility.

Also, there's a new A04 driver for the 5720 Verizon that specifically states it will now install in Windows 7.
