Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card- speed problem

Hello. I've 50mb/s net but on my laptop it works max 25mb/s. Im sure this is not the fault of the router cuz on other laptops internet works with full speed.

My laptop dell inspiron 1564.

Thanks in advance

Hi Arni8787,

Welcome to the Community.

I would suggest you to update the BIOS and the driver of the wireless card. Please click the link mentioned below which will take you to the drivers website:

http://dell.to/QjjZDA

Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer. Please update the latest version of BIOS available.

NOTE: Ensure that the battery is more than 30% charged and the adapter is connected during the bios update process.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Arni8787,

Thank you for the reply.

Please provide the following details:

1. Wireless Card on the system
2. Has it worked on 50 mb/s before?
3. Did you try disabling the firewall or any application that may affect the internet speed?

Also, I would suggest you to perform component test on Network Card. Please click the link mentioned below for Dell PC Diagnostics:

Thanks & Regards

Arni8787,

Please continue with DELL-Manshu S

My suggestion is...

Start, control panel, device manager, network adapters, Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Half Mini Card, advanced. Change the Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux.

Rick
