Re: Dell Wireless 3300 print server continues to log out of the network 3 days later.

 aboochie123,

What type of security are you using in your wireless router?

Did you update the firmware in the wireless router?

Did you update the firmware in the 3300 as we discussed in an earlier discussion?

If you had an electrical storm and or power flicker, you may have to turn off the ISP modem/router and the Wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds, then turn everything back on. Maybe the 3300 as well.

What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?

I have a TKIP on my router. I updated everything and turned off mac filtering.

Thanks

I also did try turning the router and the 3300 on and off. Unfortunately 3 days later the 3300 will shut off.

Thanks

Re: Dell Wireless 3300 print server continues to log out of the network 3 days later.

 aboochie123,

The whole device(all lights out) or just the wireless signal? If that's the case, try moving the 3300 up so it can get the signal from the wireless router. Maybe move the wireless router up a little so it can send out the signal better.

I have my wireless router on the second floor. The signal then travels down the steps to my wireless printer.

Just the wireless turns off. I will try your suggestion and move the 3300 next to the router.

Thanks

Re: Dell Wireless 3300 print server continues to log out of the network 3 days later.

I have the 3300 and it's been nothing but a burden.

The thing drops off the network all the time. I need to reset the router then go back in the 3300 manager and set it up again on each CPU. One of the solutions tried was to use a UPS and that offered no help.

I have had four 3300 from Dell and I have tried 3 routers and the same problem each time. I cant recreate the problem because it happenes when it wants. Sometimes for months it will run fine but then again I will need to reset it 3 times a week.

I wont be using a AIO Dell for a long time. Also many people have complained about this same problem (according to my Dell Technician) and no solution has been found.

That being said. I have not checked on this problem in a long time. Maybe something new has developed.

Oh, one thing did become apparent with the 3300. It "seams like" the 3300 does not like more than one or 2 CPU's connected to it. I don't mean using the 3300 at the same time, just being setup on more than one CPU.

I only have it on 1 cpu.

Thanks

I think it was designed to only use one CPU, but that is not suggested or talked about by Dell.
