Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth driver for windows 8 X64

Hi friends

I installed windows 8 X64 build 9200 on dell inspiron N5010-D and it didn't recognized the Bluetooth. It also rejects its win7 driver due to known comparability issue. Where can I find the driver?

Hi mostwanted2000,

Windows 8 is running as a Beta version currently. The compatible device drivers will only be released after the official launch of windows 8; which will happen on October 26, 2012. You may find the apt drivers for the Bluetooth card listed on Dell’s support website after that.

Perform the below mentioned troubleshooting steps:

1) Check for the presence of the card in BIOS

- Turn the computer off.

- Turn the computer back on.

- Immediately at the Dell logo screen, start tapping the key once a second until the BIOS screen appears (if the computer boots to Windows turn the computer off and try again).

- Use your arrow keys to navigate BIOS. You mouse will be inoperative in BIOS. Instructions for navigation and saving should appear at the bottom of your BIOS screen.

- Use right arrow key to highlight ‘Advanced’

- Use down arrow key to highlight ‘Wireless’

- Hit Enter key

- Capture the status of Internal Bluetooth (Should be enabled)

2) It is possible that after the windows upgrade, Bluetooth drivers are missing. Bluetooth device needs to be installed. If the driver is missing, please try installing the driver designed for windows 7 in compatibility mode. Follow these steps to access and install the device driver in compatibility mode:

Access device manager

- Click ‘Start’, and then click ‘Control Panel’

- Click ‘Hardware and Sound’

- Click ‘Device Manager’

- ‘User Account Control’ dialog box appears.

- Click ‘Continue’

- Device Manager Page opens up.

- Locate a category called ‘Bluetooth Radios’

- If not found, locate ‘Network Adapter’

- Also observe if it has a yellow mark besides any of the device listed

- Browse through the whole list to check for any other item listed with a yellow mark

- Capture the item with the yellow mark

Install driver in compatibility mode

- Place the driver installation file on the ‘Desktop’

- Right click ‘.exe’ file and click ‘Properties’

- Click “Install in compatibility mode’

- Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’

- Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’

- Click on Program worked in earlier versions of Windows

- Click on ‘Windows 7’

- Click on ‘Start the Program’

- Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes

- Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’

3) Enable the Bluetooth capability

If the Bluetooth device is installed, also verify the radio is enabled. You can turn the wireless and  Bluetooth cards on or off using the F2 key. If that doesn’t work, use the key combination (function + F2)

Do write back with the findings. I would be glad to assist.

Hi Saurabh,

I followed the same procedure as you have mentioned. But there were no items in my device manager list with an yellow exclamation mark. So I couldn't install any drivers for it. I checked in the BIOS too. Its enabled in the bios, but not showing up in the device manager.

Expecting a solution for this

Hi,

Thank you for responding.
‘Enabled’ status of Bluetooth card in system BIOS confirms that your computer is successfully detecting the Bluetooth card. Re-check device manager. Please post the snapshots (image captures) of the device manager page.

Follow these steps to check ‘Device Manager’ page details:
- Right click ‘Computer’
- Click ‘Properties’
- Click ‘Device Manager’
- Locate ‘Bluetooth Radios’ (If present)
- If not, locate ‘Network Adapters’
- Expand ‘Network Adapters’ (Refer to image below)

Follow these steps to capture the page image (Note: Ensure that all categories of device manager are included in the picture):
- Press and hold function key (fn) down (located on left bottom corner of the keyboard)
- Tap key ‘Prntscr’ (located on top row of the keyboard)
- Page image is now copied
- Paste image in ‘Paint’ application
- Save as JPEG (image)
- Send this image in the post

Could you please share some information in regards to the issue? This would help me gain more clarity.
- Did you try installing the Bluetooth driver?
- If yes, please share the download link that you used to download the driver
- Please mention the error message that appeared during the installation process
- Did you use the key combination to enable the Bluetooth?
- If yes, did that produce any notification on the screen?
- Which Bluetooth device are you trying to pair it with?
- Did you try to pair the laptop with another known good Bluetooth device?

Do reply with results. I would be glad to assist.

Hi!

I have the same problem. I have installed win 8 professional in my Dell Latitud E4300. It has the same bluetooth (model broadcom 365) and I cannot to install the driver... It is curious that before to install windows 8 professional, I installed windows 8 release version (a beta version), and in that case, I could to install the driver... but now, with the final version of windows 8 it is incompatible.

Asking your questions...

- I have tried to install the bluetooth driver.

- the link is: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/es/es/esdhs1/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats/Product/latitude-e4300?DriverId=0W7PV&FileId=2939944657&urlProductCode=False

- In this model I have a button to enable or disable bluet ooth

- I haven´t used another bluetooth device.

I will wait a solution becaus I use a bluetooth mouse.

Hi David,

The Bluetooth driver that you tried to install may not work with Windows 8 as it was built for Windows Vista 32 bit & 64 bit. However, you may try the following steps and install an updated driver as an administrator:
- Click the following link to download the most updated driver for the Bluetooth: http://dell.to/OP6bkb
- Save the folder (zipped folder) on the 'Desktop screen'
- Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R241623.exe
- The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS
- Click Ok
- After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it
- Open the following path: C:\dell\Drivers\31N70\Win64 (Follow steps mentioned below)
- Click 'Computer' and drive letter 'C'
- Locate folder 'dell' and double click it
- Locate folder 'Drivers' and double click it
- Locate folder '31N70'
- Locate folder 'Win64' and double click it
- Locate file Inst (Refer to the image below)

- Right click file 'Inst'
- Click 'Run as an administrator'
- Click 'Yes' to continue if prompted with 'User access control' message
- Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions
- Finish the installation and check for the Bluetooth functionality
- If issue persists, try using the 'setup' file to install drivers in compatibility mode (Next Step)

Install 'Setup.exe' file in 'compatibility Mode'
- Navigate to C:\dell\Drivers\31N70\Win64
- Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’
- Click “Install in compatibility mode’
- Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’

Hi Sonupandey,

The Bluetooth driver that you are trying to install with Windows 8 is either not the most updated version or may not be compatible.

To provide you with the correct driver download I need to know the name and type of Bluetooth adapter installed on the computer. Could you provide the 'Service Tag' of your computer? This information will enable me to pull up the detailed hardware configuration. I will provide you step-by-step instructions to install the driver. However, you may have to wait for the arrival of an updated device driver compatible for Windows 8, if the steps that I provide don't work.

I am sending you a friend request. Please accept it and reply through a private message with the 'Service Tag' of your computer. I would be glad to assist.

Hi Sonupandey,

The driver for ATI Radeon 5470 graphic card on your computer may not be compatible with Windows 8. Could you provide more information in regards to the driver that you tried to install? It will help us find the best resolution. Please answer these questions:
- Please provide the download link for the ATI graphic card driver that you tried installing
- At what stage did the installation stop?
- What was the error message that appeared (if any)
- Did you try installing the driver in compatibility mode?

The latest driver listed for the ATI card on Dell's support website is tested for Windows 7. Let us try to install it. If that does not work, we can also try installing it from the AMD website directly. Please find the steps listed below:

- Click 'Get Driver'
- Save the file 'R272410' on 'Desktop' screen
- Right click the file and extract the file
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver
- Restart the laptop and check again

If the issue persists, try the next step
Step 3: Install the graphic card driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode
- Click http://dell.to/Pg7YPR to access the video driver from support.dell.com
- Click 'Get Driver'
- Save the file 'R272410' on 'Desktop' screen
- Right click the file and extract the file
- Navigate to C:\dell\Drivers\R272410\Win64\
- Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’
- Click “Install in compatibility mode’
- Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’
- Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’

- Click on ‘Windows 7’
- Click on ‘Start the Program’
