Dell inspiron 5520

Hi i have just bought a new dell inspiron 5520-6502 and i am having networking issues. It does connect to the internet but signal strength is ways low and it constantly disconnects. My router is fine i have turned it of and on, reset it and i still get problems. The other dell laptop in the household works fine and my old dell xps never had issues. Any1 help? Andy

Hi dr3wbhoy,

Check the wireless connection in Safe mode with networking (restart the computer and tapping F8 on dell logo. Select Safemode with networking). If the wireless connections is still slow in Safe mode with networking, try updating the update the wireless router's firmware to the latest available.

If the wireless shows the same behavior, update wireless drivers from below link:

  1. Visit the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  2. Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
  3. In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
  4. Under the category Network, Select the drivers accordingly and click “Download File” and save the file on desktop
  5. Now Install the file.

If the issue persists, run Network troubleshooter from below link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

For more information, I have provided a link below which can fix the issue:
