Difficulty removing Intel Pro 2100 from Lattitude D600

This is a strange one and I need some help.

I have a Win XP Pro SP2 D600 that came with the Intel Pro Wireless 2100 miniPCI card installed...  I've kept the drivers up to date from support.dell.com

I decided to move from using 802.11b over to 802.11g and purchased a Winstron Neweb CM9 tri-mode dual band card based on the Atheros chipset that supports Super G (108Mbps).

The problems started after I attempted to uninstall the Intel PROSet software...

Now my system does not boot up very well, and whenever I open the Control Panel I get an Intel(R) PROSet message that says "Resources not available".

This is the procedure I used to make the upgrade:
1.   Uninstalled Intel PROSet software via Add/Remove Software under Control Panel.
2.   Uninstalled Intel Pro 2100 network adapter via Device Manager
3.   Powered down system and physically removed the minipci card from the D600.
4.   Install the new CM9 card.
5.   Powered system back up and installed drivers and software for the CM9.
6.   Disabled the "Wireless Zero Config Service" in Service Maintenance screen as instructed by CM9 install instructions.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Mike
