I entered the service tag number and express service number. But it seems to be unable to verify it. I bought my computer in Japan. Does it make any difference?

Hi
I do have a 15R 5537.
I have used my service tag to locate the appropriate drivers but nothing I've downloaded so far has installed successfully.
To this day I have not had wireless working.
What is the exact wireless controller I have?
Where are the appropriate drivers for Win7-64 and Win8-64?

Hi Pagkalis,
Please share the Operating System installed. Try pressing the key combination of 'Fn+F2' keys or just the 'F2' key to activate the WiFi and check if system is detecting any wireless network. Also, share the screenshot of the Device Manager with the Network Adapters and Other Devices expanded. Here are the steps:
Also, share the Hardware Ids of the device which has a bang in the Device Manager, this will assist me to identify device and its drivers. Here are the steps:

Hi DELL-Saharsh K
Windows 8.1 preview x64 UK.
I removed the 1TB HDD the 15R 5537 came with and replaced it with the Samsung SSD 840 Pro.
The 'Flight mode' switch seems to be working fine. It does switch off the external wirelless I am using now.
I did notice that the wireless light has never been on, no matter whether the Flight mode is off or on.
The remaining 2 items not enabled in the Device Manager are:
Network Controller: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01
PCIe Simple Communications Controller: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C3A&SUBSYS_05E91028&REV_04
Under Network Adapters:
Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_05E91028&REV_07) is there and working finne (driver: 8.10.1226.2012)

The PCIe Simple Communications Controller: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C3A&SUBSYS_05E91028&REV_04
remains as an issue in the Device Manager.

Problem solved.
I used 7zip to decompress the driver executable, then located the drivers and updated them manually through the Device Manager.
Clearly, there is something wrong with the installer.
