Hi YoungLoko,

As per the information posted by you, there is no wireless card installed.

You may check the ‘Device Manager’ to see if the wireless card is getting detected.

  • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen
  • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
  • Click > sign next to ‘Network adapters’ to expand and view the options.

If the wireless card is not listed under ‘Network Adapters’, you may check under ‘Other devices’ or if it is not listed as ‘Unknown device’.

You may provide the Device ID or the Hardware ID for the wireless card. Refer to the link http://dell.to/1bHDAbY for information on how to get the ‘Device ID’.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

Once you have opened the device manager as explained above, tap Fn and F2 to switch the WiFi switch on and off, you should view some changes in the device manager when you do this.

You don't have a driver installed a driver for your Dell Wireless 1505.

If you recently installed Windows state what version of Windows you installed.

I will assume Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Windows 7 64 bit and Windows 7 32 bit drivers are available here, these should also work with Windows 8 (but don't install Operating System Updates or System Utilities):

Download the drivers using a working computer onto a USB stick. Insert the USB stick into your Inspiron 1420 and nstall in order.
