Inspiron 8600 Network Adapter lights m- HELP!

Inspiron 8600 laptop...Internet access was working...now nothing. Now at the network adapter connection, the light is green until I plug in the cable from modem when one light is constant orange, the other (amber) blinks randomly.  HELP!  I can't get online!!
