Inspiron N5110 has lost wireless connection

My Dell Inspiron N5110 has lost all wireless connection. The connection would come and go. When I would reset my router it would work for a bit, then It would stop again. I went to DELL and did a diagnostic test to see what drivers/updates I needed and my N5110 wireless driver came up. I went through the process of downloading and installing it but kept getting an error. HELP!!!

Nickel620,

What virus program and firewall are you using?

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here.

Can you also run Network Interface and post the results back here.

Hi Nickel620,

Please share the operating system installed. Also, share the error message that you got while updating the drivers. Run Network troubleshooter to identify failures and check if it fixes them. Refer to the link for steps http://dell.to/17xXAea . You may also refer to the link http://dell.to/1acPX2p for additional information on 'Wireless Networking for the Home for Windows 7'.

Also, run diagnostics on the system to confirm hardware functionality. Here are the steps:

  • Restart the system and immediately start tapping the 'F12' key to enter the 'Boot Menu'.
  • Use the 'Down Arrow' key to highlight the 'Diagnostics' option. Press the 'Enter' key.
  • The diagnostics will begin. Please note the exact error message/code, if any appears on the screen.

Please refer to the video on the link http://dell.to/17DCL0R for assistance in initiating tests.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.
