Internet Explorer 8 problems

XPS M1530 purchased in May of 09..

Vista home premium, 4GB Memory, T660 @ 2.20 GHz Core Duo CPU

Hello all. First I want to thank everyone for helping me with a jumping cursor problem.

Now, I am having a strange problem with my email since I downloaded IE8. I only downloaded IE 8 today because a phone company I use recommended I upgrade my browser in order for me to be able to add money to my cell phone online. (Still can't do that even after downloading IE8).

Anyway, the problem i am having is that each time I click on "attach" to attach something to my (Yahoo) emails, I get completely thrown out of the email and there isn't even a draft of the message I just lost. This has happened to me all day today. Again, it only started after I downloaded and installed IE8. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maywin

I would recommend using a different browser like Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html). IE8 is known to have many different problems.

Also, you can check to make sure that Java is updated (I think Yahoo uses this for its attachment features): http://java.com/en/download/help/java_update.xml#manual_update

Sometimes, it is a good idea to just try again. There are reports of people who have this problem and they just try again and it works fine.

If the website you are trying to view does not come up correctly in IE 8, try "Compatibility Mode." 'Compatibility Mode' in IE8 lets you browse pages that aren't up to speed with IE8 technology. Basically, it makes them load just as well as they did in IE7 or 6, but with the security and speed of IE 8. This link is helpful in explaining how to use Compatibility Mode:
