Internet dropping out with Windows 7
Does anyone have an suggestions about how to solve internet drop out problems using Windows 7. A google search establishes that it is a widespread problem. I have a Studio laptop running W7 home premium and Mozilla Firefox.

Redneb,
I have a wireless router using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11.
Was this computer upgraded to Windows 7? If so, did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems If you cannot find the Windows 7 drivers, then try the Vista(or XP) Drivers and install them in the Compatibility mode
I have no problems with connecting with my Dell Studio 1737 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit system.

The computer came loaded with W7, it wasn't an upgrade. I went through and reset my router to the settings you suggested, but the other laptop on the network could not then connect. A dialogue box kept coming up requesting a number of some sort (which I assumed to be the password I set on the router) but it would not accept the password. So I had to take the security settings out and go back to using MAC addresses as my "security."
