Media Disconnected, I'm lost.

Hi,

My mother went to connect to the internet last night but her computer would not connect to our home wireless network. I've tried all of the troubleshooting methods prompted by her computer, but with no success. I pulled up her computers information and noticed that it said the media was disconnected. I tried to turn the wifi on and off on her computer (f2), but the red X remained on the connection icon. I'm at a loss for how to fix this. The other computers in our home are connected, just not hers. I'd greatly appreciate any help you can offer to help fix this problem.

Hi EMBell08,

I see that you have old BIOS installed on the computer. I would suggest you to update the BIOS from the BIOS section and the Wireless card driver from Network section for issue resolution.

Since I am unable to connect to the internet, how do I update the BIOS and the Wireless card driver? I am using my own computer right now and I read in a post that I could download it to a USB and then install it on my mothers computer. However, my laptop is a Toshiba and when I went to try and download the driver to a USB, it did not give me that option. I am worried about downloading it onto my computer since it is not a Dell. Can you please advise?

Hi EMBell08,

I would suggest you to download the both the drivers on the Toshiba system by inserting the service tag in the link below and then transfer it to Dell system using the USB drive and install the drivers.
