Network adapter problem - Dell XPS 17 (L702x) laptop

Hello,

From the beggining of using Dell XPS 17 (L702x) laptop I experienced a problem:

When the computer is encountering a bigger loads (f.e. working with after effects, rendering, and similar stuff) the internet connection crashes. (I have have direct connection thou ethernet cable, no wireless and no router is used in the apartment).

If I go to Control Panel \ Network and Internet \ Network and Sharing Center and click to find solutions, windows finds and fixes current issue:

"The default gateway is not awailable"

Windows resets the "Local Area Connection" adapter and the internet appears. However this event happens almost everytime I work with programs.

How Can I get this stuff fixed permanently?

Thank you,

Justin

Re: Network adapter problem - Dell XPS 17 (L702x) laptop

Hi Justin,

I recommend booting the computer to Safemode with networking (Restart the computer and tap F8 on Dell logo and select Safemode with networking).

Check if wired network work in Safemode with networking.

If the Wired network shows the same behavior, update wireless drivers from below link:

  1. Visit the link: www.support.dell.com
  2. Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
  3. Click on "Drivers and Downloads Tab".
  4. In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
  5. Under the category Network, Select the drivers accordingly and click “Download File” and save the file on desktop and click on Run.

Also, connect the Network cable to a different computer and check if the issue persists.

Awaiting your response!

Thanks & Regards
