Odd internet connection behaviour

Hi guys!

So my boyfriend bought me a dell XPS L502x for my birthday a few months ago, and it has been working fine until 2 weeks ago.

I started experiencing some serious internet connection issues (like for example it showed it tried to connect to 2 connections, mine and an unknown one, however not being connected to the unknown one). By now it has come to the point I can't play any games anymore or even connect to websites 8 times out of 10..

I use wireless internet. My parents have been experiencing some problems too, however it seems to be fixed for them now, yet I still have the same problems.

I updated the driver since it was out of date, I performed a disk cleanup and I flushed my DNS, however none of it seemed to help.

I feel as if there is something wrong in my network connections, so when I went to have a look at it, it seemed like there was 1 missing. However I'm not sure that is the cause of this.

Maybe some of you know what I can do?

I'm all out of options.

This is a screenshot of my "view network connections" window

Shiviks,

What virus program and firewall are you using? There ws an issue with McAfee about a month ago. Software Updates Causes Wireless Connectivity Issue Or Unable to Connect to Internet

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

I use bitdefender and just the firewall of my windows, I know there were problems with McAfee, which is why I deleted it from my dell as soon as I got it

Shiviks,

Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, select your operating system. Under Network, install the latest drivers for your Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless adapter.

I used these tweaks...

Intel ~ Recommended settings for 802.11n connectivity

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

I went to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for any changes.

However as I said in my post, I had already updated to the latest drivers for my Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless adapter, it didn't go better after, so it wasn't that what was causing it, but ok, it might be fixed now.
