Unable to access the network

I have been having problems accessing the internet since I got my computer in June. My computer is a Dell inspiron N5050 with Windows 7. I am able to connect to the internet, and it will say I'm connected, but when I'm trying to do anything on the internet it will keep disconnecting randomly (and frequently) and then reconnect, but the page I was on always times out or I get an error message that says "unable to access the network. Error code: ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED" or "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET" even though it says I'm connected with excellent strength. I use google chrome as my default browser, and I have already tried adding it to the list of allowed programs so my firewall or virus protection program doesn't block it but that did not help. I also tried updating all the drivers but that did not help either. I have this problem multiple times a day regardless of what network I am connected to (home or school) and it's extremely frustrating. I couldn't even type this on my computer because I would keep losing accses. I also can't get through my homework without it losing connection. I don't know if it's a problem or incompatibility issue with Google chrome, a setting that needs to be changed on my computer, a defect in the computer, or possibly something else. I loved my old Dell and had no problems with it, but this one I'm ready to throw out my window. Any ideas how to fix this problem?
