WiDi not working after updating Dell drivers

I have a Latitude E6430 running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  I recently acquired a TV with wireless display functionality, and attempted to try this out with the laptop.  (The laptop shipped with WiDi functionality.)  I made a few attempts to connect to the TV, and there was some promising handshaking, but it ultimately failed.  I checked the Dell support site and downloaded drivers for display (Intel 4000), WiFi (Intel 6205) and the WiDi utility and installed them, in case any were updated since I acquired the laptop.  All installed OK, but now when I fire up the WiDi utility, I'm told the laptop doesn't support it.  Why should applying drivers from Dell specifically for the Dell laptop I have disable functionality that came with the system?  How might I correct this?

Thanks,

Mike

miked63,

Unfortunately, I am not seeing any widi drivers for the Latitude E6430 system. Can you provide the link to where you downloaded the driver.

From the link you provided for the E6430 drivers and downloads, choosing Windows 7 as the operating system (shouldn't matter for 32-bit vs. 64--bit), the WiDi download is identified as "Intel(R) Wi-Fi Link 6300/6250/6205 Application" under the Network category.  (The file name for the download starts with "Intel_WiDi...")

miked63,

Unfortunately, I do not see any reference to WIDI on this network driver. There is no widi support for the Latitude 6430.

But will the network driver necessarily have such a reference?  The WiDi application that I cited certainly does:

To reiterate what I said in my original posting, WiDi was pre-installed.  In encountering problems getting it to work with a new TV with wireless display functionality, I downloaded and installed Dell-provided drivers for WiFi (Intel 6205), display (Intel 4000) and the WiDi software, itself, in case any of these were updated since I purchased my laptop.  Now when I fire up the WiDi software, it tells me my system doesn't support WiDi.

I happened to run Intel's WiDi compatibility tool, and it tells me the drivers for WiFi and display adapter are below those recommended for WiDi support, but it does tell me the system is capable of supporting WiDi.  Intel says to look to the OEM of my system for driver support, so it would seem the drivers for (at least) display adapter and WiFi card on Dell's site are lacking the functionality necessary, as they are older than what's needed.
