Windows Media Player 11 - slow motion

I just bought my E1505 with Vista and WMP 11.  The computer has all the upgrades, so watching streaming video should not be an issue due to power.  However, any site that streams using Windows Media Player is unwatchable, as everything goes extremely slow, and then just stops.  If I download video and watch it with another viewer, I have no problem.

Has anyone encountered this problem?  How do I fix it?  Thanks.

What kind of internet connection do you have.  If you have a slow internet connection, even the fastest computer in the world will not be able to stream video very well on a slow connection.

No, I have a cable connection with plenty of speed.  And other media players work just fine.  For some reason, it's just with Windows Media Player.

No, I haven't changed any settings, because I figured it would come optimized from Dell, and that I would cause more damage.  What settings would likely fix this?
