Wireless networking and Windows7

Since installing Windows7 on my Studio 1555 Laptop, the wireless feature has been disabled. I am currently accessing the Internet by ethernet cable, but upon opening 'manage wireless networks', no wireless networks are displayed, not even my own!  I have searched all the Tech support pages but cannot find the method of enabling the feature.  Can anyone help please?

First and foremost the driver for the wifi adapter must be installed/enabled.

Control Panel...Network & Sharing Center...change adapter settings (from menu on left)

Your adapters will be displayed.  If the wireless adapter isn't there then get the driver (via Dell's support site) and install it!

If it is there but grayed out it is disabled.  Right click and enable from the context (popup) menu.
