Wireless too slow

Hi

I have a dell inspiron 1525 and my wireless connection is slow. There are three other laptops that are working fine with this wireless but i am the only one that is having problems. i turned off the wireless and turned it back on and it was fast for like 30 seconds and then it went back to being slow.

Certain programs use more resources than others. Some virus programs use more resources than others.

 

Try reading...

Windows startup programs. What are they? Are they required? How can I disable them?

 

Have you scanned for malware? Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware update it and do a quick scan remove anything it finds.

Hi akshayv10,

I would suggest you to check the status of wireless connection in Safe mode with networking option. To boot to Safe mode with networking, restart the computer and keep tapping F8 on Dell logo until you get the Advanced boot options page. On that page you would find the Safemode with networking option. If the wireless connections are still slow in Safe mode with networking, try updating wireless router's firmware to the latest version available on vendor’s website.

Hi rick,

i have no problems connecting to the wireless network. it is just that my connection to the same network is slower than any other comupter in the house

   Thanks for your help. Unfortunately the drivers are already up to date and the problem is still there.
