how to tell if 1390 wlan mini card supports 5 ghz ?
I have a dell wireless 1390 wlan mini-card.
I have seen notes on the internet saying that not all 1390's support the 5 ghz of my new router.
How do I tell if my card supports 5ghz ?
Is the functionality provided by the driver ? I would guess that there is some hardware aspect.
Thanks.

tvel10,
If my memory serves me correctly, the 1390 is a wireles b/g adapter. Works on the 2.4GHz frequency. If you have a wireless N router, it has to connect on the G band. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a wireless N router, unless it's dual-band.

The router is b/g/n. I can switch it between 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz. I wanted to switch it to 5 ghz thinking that I would get a better signal. But I don't know if the 1390 card can receive on that frequency. The info I found googling is ambiguous saying that some 1390 cards only support 2.4 ghz while others support both 2.4 and 5 ghz.
I suppose I should just try it.
Thanks for your response.
