i cant add wi-fi on laptop

i had to replace my hard drive in my dell inspirion 3520 and dell sent me the operating system windows 8 and the drivers and utilities disk. I was able to install windows 8 but im not able or dont think i installed the drivers and utilities correct i put the cd in and nothing happens. When i go on the site i see all the drivers and things to install (while im on a different computer) but i cant locate my wi-fi which i had on here with old hard drive to be able to get on the internet

I am not sure if this is the same with you, but my Drivers and utilities disc installed a small program that is the interface to actually installing the drivers. Go to the program list and see if Dell Resource CD is listed. If it is, run it and it will list the drivers you need. You may need to go into Windows Explorer and run the autorun.exe file to install it. Once it is installed you can run it and install the drivers needed.

Does your device manager show a wireless device or an unknown device?
