modem driver

Can you tell us what model computer and what modem you have installed.

i have an optiplex gx1 and the tag number is D4SEH... under modem it only says standard 56000 bps v90 modem.... which is dial up i know this.... but under the network it has several.... 3Com 3C918 integrated fast ethernet controller.... 3com etherlink xl 10/1000 pci for complete pc management.... dial up adapter.... dial up adapter #2 {VPN} support... internet connection sharing.... microsoft virtual private networking adapter... and finally WAN Miniport {ATW}... i dont know if i have what i need or anything.... but i do know it was online at one time through cable modem....  under the help and support menu for microsoft, it says my problem devices are irq holder for pci steering.... 2 in whci the choices at end of device id are 61 and 62 and also a problem with tcp/ip... all state error code 22... could this be my problem?thanks! anything else ya need just ask.... i think i may have said more then was asked...lol  thanks again...

Your system did not come with a modem.  You can get a new PCI modem for $7 

As long as you use WIN98SE/ME/2000/XP to reinstall clean you wont need any other drivers.  2000 and XP with SP1 and up need a Registry tweak for the ISA sound.
