Hi,

Just resolved the issue for me by disabling the IPV6 in the network properties.

Regards.

Hi udhaya.gopalan,

Request you to try following the below steps if you are using Internet explorer browser which might help:

(1) Try opening different secured sites and check if they open.

(2) Check if you are prefixing “https://” before the website address.

(3) You may try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and all other options (except Passwords) via IE/ Tools/ Delete Browsing History. Refer the below link for more information on the same:

(4) Then you may refer the below link to Reset Internet Explorer Settings

(5) Also check if the website opens on a different browser.

Do reply with your answers.

Hi udhaya.gopalan,

There is a delay in responding from our side due to long leaves and then the community forum was down. Request you to try reseating IE and check if it works. If this doesn’t work then request you to try following the below steps:

(1)   Click on tools

(2)   Select Internet options.

(3)   Move to Advanced tab.

(4)   Select HTTP 1.1 settings and check both options below it.

(5)   Then under security make sure use SSL 3.0

Also let me know if you have tried opening the site in different browsers.

Hi udhaya.gopalan,

Request you to use the below link to take the compute back to factory state:

  1. Plug in the AC adapter.
  2. Point to the right hand corner of the screen to bring up the charms bar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Select ‘PC settings, In the PC settings window, select ‘General’.
  5. Once “General is selected, on the right side scroll down to click on ‘Restart Now’ under Advanced settings’
  6. In the next screen click on ‘Trouble shoot’.
  7. Click the Dell Backup and Recovery icon.
  8. The system restarts and comes back up, click ‘Next’ on the Dell Backup and Recovery Screen.
  9. The system would be checked to see if the smart repair option can fix the issue, click ‘Next’ once this is done.
  10. You will be prompted to select the backup to be used, click the factory image option or select from one of the backups. Click Next.
  11. You will be prompted to back up your files, if needed do so by selecting the option ‘Yes, backup my personal files’ (Make sure to have an external backup hard drive handy.) or select No, Erase my files.
  12. The system goes ahead and completes the restore of the operating system. Click Restart when prompted.
  13. Follow the on-screen instructions to setup the system with windows.

Note: Please backup the data before attempting this.

Now check if the website works. If it still doesn’t work then I would suggest you to contact the website who can help you further.

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.

hi.

I got a DELL Latitude E5500 from my Dad.
It was running with Win10.
Under Win10 I couldn't open some internet pages like amazon.
But others can be openend.
I'm from germany and for example I can go to www.chip.de but not to www.computerbild.de
I then installed Linux Mint-Cinnamon on that Laptop and with that I deleted the HDD.
But even under Linux I have the same problem: Same pages won't open. (also www.dell.com not opening).
I always get the error "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site. We can't connect to the server at ..."

I dunno what to do to solve it.
It can't be an operating system problem cuz as I stated above, I fresh-installed Linux.
Can it be an outdated BIOS or something with the network-chip on the board?

I even checked the BIOS but cannot find anything that has to do with my problem...
