Are you connected to a wired and a wireless connection at the same time or are you only connected to a wireless network? This could be the result of a couple of issues. If you have an incorrect IP address assigned to your wireless adapter, that would prevent traffic. You can try opening a command prompt and typing "ping 4.2.2.2" (without the quotes) to see if you get a response. If you don't get replies back, your IP address is the problem. If pinging 4.2.2.2 works, you may have bad DNS settings. In the same command prompt window, type "ping www.google.com" (again without the quotes) to see if you get responses. If you don't, check your DNS settings. For both IP address and DNS servers, they can normally be left on "Automatic" to get this information from either your cable modem or router.
