when connecting 2 PCs to a D-Link router 1 PC says Local Area Connection 2

Hi there,

When connecting 2 XP PCs to  D-Link WBR-2310 wireless rounter...1 PC connects fine to the internet and says Local Are Network while the other XP PC won't connect to the internet and says Local Area Network 2. I was told by D-Link technical support and by Microsoft technical support that the problem is that the one that won't connect saying Local Area Connection 2. The fact that it says 2. How can I get it back to just Local Area Network without the 2?

Please help.

Thank you,

Greta

Great,

On the computer that's not connecting, did you try...

Start, control panel, Networking and sharing, view statis, diagnose?
