How to set the IP of a new 5524 switch

We connected the Serial Console to a new switch, but did not respond fast enough to the setup wizard (you only get 60 secons!) so now we are in trouble.

Having scoured all the manuals, there seems to be no way to run it.

Looking at the rather poor CLI reference, it is not clear how one sets the management IP so we can use the web interface.

Every command we try gives an error.  E.g.:

>enable
Unknown parameter
May be one from the following list:
debug             help

>login
Unknown parameter
May be one from the following list:
debug             help

>configure
Unknown parameter
May be one from the following list:
debug             help

Any ideas?

The  command to change the ip address is as follows, from page 600 of the owners manual.

support.dell.com/.../en_cli.pdf

Console(config)# interface vlan 1

Console(config-if)# ip address 131.108.1.27 255.255.255.0

But if the system is no letting you gain access to the user exec mode, and there is no active configuration on the switch, you may want to try using the reset button to reset the switch and start the wizard over again. Information on this can be found on page 36:

This does not work.  The switch just gives the ">" prompt not "Console>".

When we try any command, including: enable, config, configure, login etc. it just says:

"Unknown parameter"

Reset button just reboots, does not run the wizard again.  

Just tried holding the reset button down for 30 seconds.  This seemst have done the trick.  Now get the wizard again.  Shame this is not in the Getting Started guide.  

Still stuck with the "dead" ">" prompt though, so cant actually manage the unit via CLI.

When going through the wizard did you setup the user account privilege level?

What the output if you do a ? Or help ?
