Delayed for a 9th time

A friend suggested that I made this post more readable.

I am having difficulties with obtaining information about the status of an order. Below is a timeline of my attempts at resolving this issue. Any and all suggestion are greatly appreciated.

  • June 26, 2012 order placed for XPS 8500 (fast track config 02) - estimated delivery July 3.
  • June 28, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 5.
  • June 29, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 6
  • July 2, chatted with a Dell Rep who stated order should ship soon and apologized for delay
  • July 3, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 10
    • Chatted with Dell Rep who stated that a "Dell case specialist" would follow up with with directly
  • July 4, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 11
    • Chatted with Dell Rep who stated that the order would ship by July 5
    • For verification I also phoned - the rep and supervisor stated the order would ship within 24hr and a case specialist would phone
    • Supervisor stated that the order would be expedited. 
  • July 5, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 9 (expedited shipping)
    • Phoned and spoke with Dell Rep - Rep stated that the order would ship on July 6
    • Filled out the "Unresolved Issues" form on the website
  • July 6, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 10
    • Filled out another "Unresolved Issues" form on website
  • July 9, was contacted by "Dell Case Specialist"
    • She informed me that my case was unique and that they could be find an reason why my order was being delayed. She asked for an additional 24 to 48 hours to follow up.
  • July 10, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 11
  • July 11, received notification (email) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 12
  • July 11, received after notification (website) that order was delayed - estimated delivery July 13
My inability to resolve this issue is beginning to affect my job, I simply cannot understand why Dell refuses to provide information on this order. At this point I don't know where to turn.

I too ordered an XPS 8500 on June 26. Original est delivery on July 3

July 5: e-mail confirmation est delivery

July 10: new confirmation email est del

July 13: new confirmation est deliv.

July 18: new confirmation est deliv.

July 24: latest est deliv

The order was cancelled by Dell twice and new purchase ID's given. I suppose to hide the many delays? I wish they would just be up front and honest about the delays. If they are slammed and behind or waiting for parts I would understand. The current tactics are just frustrating. This will be the 6th Dell for my household and I've always been happy with Dell. This latest string of no explanation delays is rather frustrating.
