Dreadful service, Dell call centre telling lies, no ability to complain
I will never buy ever again from Dell. This experience has been horredous AND there is no one to complain to or speak to about the issue. I ordered a laptop and printer, took a day off work to wait in for the delivery and only one item arrived. The deeply unhelpful call centre has eaten up upwords or 2 hours of my time and phone bills. I have been kept hanging on or passed around only to get to the same conclusion ie they note I havent received my printer and will e mail someone about it. I have even been given assurances by a chap called Sravan that he had given me a direct line, a big lie, its the same irritating call centre. So having taken a day off work they unhelpfully tell me that my printer will be with me in 24 - 48 hours. Great I wont be there. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and they say they cannot transefer me. I asked to speak to the call centre director and the lady says she doesnt have the number. Its like the Prisoner/Catch 22. So Dell have my money and I have no way of getting this sorry tale resolved. It's an absolute disgrace. Must have a chat with our IT director at work, as we buy rather a lot of Dell product, and sadly this is a Dell work laptop I am typing this on.

I also had big problem with Dell warrenty. I was moving from US to india and my warrenty was expiring. I asked dell chat support agent, if it is possible for me to transfer my warrenty to India and he told me yes so I took the warrenty. When actually I ask them to change it they asked me $204 I was upset but still I paid it (for a $502 laptop I paid $313). When I reached india. I had a problem with charger and DC power jack. I talk to support agent and they asked me to got to Lajpat nagar new delhi dell service center. They changed the adpater but for DC jack they asked me to upgrade the warrenty to complete care. I changed that by paying $77. Now When I went back to the same service center they told me I need to pay further Rs17000 or the same technician can do it without going through dell for Rs 4000. I am not whether to upgrade the warrenty or pay the bribe in dell service center. Ultimately one year warrently is costing me more than the laptop price and it is not getting repaired either. I called customer service and they keep telling me they told me that I will be connected to a technical service reprenstative and no one answerd the call again.
I will never suggest anyone to buy dell laptop.

So now I heard that from Dell. They are telling me complete cover is not good for any damaged part replacement and are asking me to give them more money (Rs 14800, almost $323). For 1 year warrenty I should have to pay $636 more than cost of the laptop. What a rip off. I am writing this to warn other people don't buy dell warrenty and please don't upgrade it. It is nothing but a scam. They continuously will ask for more every time you go to them. So I give up. Never buy Dell laptop and certainly no need to increase warrenty.

Dell call centre still telling lies.
I ordered XPS8100 on special offer - they came back with an email saying they were missing a part (the DVD writer which is standard and ships with just about every Dell computer) - they insisted I upgrade to bluray - I didn't need bluray so I got on to customer support centre. I dealt with three different CS people by email, phone and internet chat - each of them said they would process the original order at the original offer price - three times I provided my credit card information. Nobody processed the order. They waited until the special offer expired then I got an email saying my order was cancelled - so I couldn't get the original offer price. Dell staff are trained to lie to their customers - I even have it in writing - but there is no response when you make a complaint.
