I get an error message when I try to enter sleep mode. The system tells me that the problem is with the SATA RAID CONTROLLER. I have the latest version of this driver installed. Still no joy. HELP
If you could post the exact error message, it will help us to find a solution.

This is the exact error message:
The device for the INTEL(R) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID CONTROLLER device is preventing the machine from entering standby, Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists you may need to update this driver.
I have experienced issues with this controller on 3 different XPS420 systems. I have concluded there is an inherent problem with this controller that Dell refuses to address. I finally downloaded and installed the Intel chipset drivers from Intel and it helped to stablize the system somewhat.
