Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Hi! First posting, looking for help, please! Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Does anyone know if the video and sound cards from my defunct Dell Dimension E510 (Video: 256 mb PCI Express x 16 ATI Radeon X600 SE Hyper Memory and Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (D) sound Card w/Dolby 5.1 and IEEE 1394) would work in it? If so, any links to "how to" information, please? Thank you!

I have an E510.  The old ATI Radeon X600 will work but it's an obsolete video card and probably no better (or maybe even not as good as the Integrated Video).   I had that card on my E510 and upgraded it a long time ago.

You can install the Audigy 2ZS, but Dell does not have drivers for that sound card and if the Retail Creative (Soundblaster) drivers do not work with the Dell OEM version you are out of luck.  Also, ANY PCI sound card that you install will not use the front panel headphone and mic connections as they are integrated into the Dell proprietary (and undocumented) front panel connection to the motherboard.

How to install PCIe or PCI cards are in the Dell manual.  There is a copy installed on your new PC. HERE

is the on-line version.  If you install a sound card you will have to disable the Integrated audio in the BIOS (setup).

Hi JimCG, Your Quad Core system will have an 350w PSU. With that, you would be better having an 9500GT, 9600GT, or an ATI 4670 graphics cards in that system.

9500GT HERE.

4670 HERE.

9600GT HERE.
