Dell Inspiron 531 "no boot device available"
Hello. I have a two year old Dell Inspiron 531 desktop which is not running anything except the 32 bit disk. It comes on and then gives me a message "no boot device available" and then sata info . I figured the hard drive went so I bought and installed a new one and the same response showed up. One of my questions is: when installing a new hard drive is their something that I should download to the computer? Anthing special I should be doing to the drive itself, like remove stickers?
What I have tried so far is the 32 bit disk and reinstalling vista. Well, it kept coming up that no drives were found and to insert drivers disk. I cannot find the drivers and utilities disk so I attemtpted to download them onto a disk from my laptop, but the Dell 531 computer kept telling me that nothing was found on that disk. Am I taking the correct steps here? Is their something else I should be trying? Could I use a flash drive to download the drivers and insert that on to the 531 for installing the drivers?
Also during diagnostics it said no hard drive found and on another section it said floppy diskette failure. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It's possible that the CMOS battery is dead and needs to be replaced. Instructions for replacing the CMOS battery is HERE . You can get a new battery (CR2032) at any drug store or Walmart.

Thank you for your reply. I am going to head out to the store to get one and see if that is the deal. How great would that be if it was just that. Had a new response from computer today as well after I took battery out and inserted back in (same one). "Alert! Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkout (FFH) For help resolving this issue please contact Dell technical support. Hey, at least I got some new noises from the box and some new material. Thank you again and I will let you know how it goes.
