Dell Inspiron N4050 Processor Upgrade

Hi.

I have Inspiron N4050 (32-Bit System) with 4 GB RAM, Processor is  Pentium B950 @2.1 GHz.

I see different posts already but mostly for Celeron B815 1.6Ghz. I'm not sure if that applies to B950 or not.

Can I please ask which i5 processor I can upgrade to?

Thanks.

The only i5 CPU that shipped with that system is the i5-2410M.

On this model, the processor is socketed and replaceable - it's now six generations old, and among the last Intel notebook generations for which most CPUs were still socketed.  Starting with the next generation, BGA soldered-in CPUs became common -- and the one after that (the fourth generation) they became the norm.

I'm not quite sure if I understand your post correctly? You want to upgrade your current laptop with a new processor?

That's practically impossible. The processor is not easily removable from the mainboard.
