Operating systems
I am looking for a computer for a friend and i was wondering with the new operating system that's comming out "Windows 7" what's gonna happen with my friend that's thinking of odering a Dell pc now? Will he have to buy the new operating system?

If you order today, you get the operating system that you ordered, unless you see something to the effect that the computer will be available for an upgrade. If you wait until later this month, then you have a better chance of getting an operating system with Windows 7 installed.
It is currently unknown if Microsoft will allow a FREE upgrade or not. We also did not see anything from Dell to this effect, also.
If you want Windows 7, you can sit and wait or you can purchase and hope, or you can purchase Windows 7 when it comes out. I'd sit and wait.
