Dell PowerEdge 840 Battery replacement question
Hello,
I need to replace my PERC 5/i battery (pu968) given this is a 7 year old server are there other batteries that and / or other parts that are recommended to change at the same time?
As well, when we turn the server off and replace the battery, will we lose any bios settings or other settings that we should be aware of, or is it a simple turn off switch battery turn on?
Anything else we should be aware of before commencing this maintenance?

Hi,
The PERC battery is for maintaining the RAID cache in a power failure, so you will not have to do any settings again. You should just need to swap the battery boot up and let the new battery charge
