OpenManage 9.1.0 not connecting to ESXi 6.7

Hi,

I have installed the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.1.0-2757.VIB-ESX65i_A00.zip on a ESXi 6.7 version.

Then I upgraded my OMSA on Windows 10 to 9.1.0 and I'm still able to connect to ESXi 5.5 version using old VIBs (8.4 or 8.5) and I'm no able to connect to the recent ESXi.

Is there something else that we need to do?

I've checked the "Ignore Certificate Warnings" checkbox and it takes a long time and does nothing...

Again, OMSA has nothing to do with sensors or storage status shown as unknown, that is a driver related problem.

Good question :) I'm currently in the same boat. I have a Perc H700 Controller and also a FusionIO with the latest drivers installed but storage status is unknown. I think that for ESXi 6.7 there isn't a solution for this. But there is a good news: OMSA is working on ESXI 6.7!!!!!!! Just installed the latest vib and updated Open Manage to 9.2 and I can connect to OMSA!!! Finally if I have to add or remove an hard disk I don't have to reboot everytime my server.

I'm definitely confused then. Prior to ESXi 6.7, my drac recognized the physical disks in my Dell T630 and now it doesn't. I get an "RAC0508: An unexpected error occurred. Wait for few minutes and refresh the page. If the problem persists, contact service provider." when looking at physical disks under storage. The virtual disks show up just fine. I have two controller/RAID cards, a Dell H730 and a Dell H830. One is connected to internal drives and the other to an external enclosure but none of the drives are recognized. Again, this worked just fine in ESXi 6.5. This make it hard to monitor for a bad drive if individual drives are not recognized. And this is driver related?

Not exactly sure what fixed it but I installed OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.2.0-3212.VIB-ESX67i_A00.zip and also reset my idrac and now my individual disks are showing up correctly on my drac.  I am very sure I reset the drac before with the same failed results so as best I can tell, the new ESXi OMSA seems to have solved the issue on my Dell T630.

Well... I've downloaded today the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.2.0-3212.VIB-ESX67i_A00.zip file and installed it on a ESXi 6.7 server to try it... But I'm using OMSA 9.1 on my PC, so it isn't connecting.

Then I tried to search for the OMSA 9.2 install file, and I'm not able to find it... Sorry, but Dell download center is a mess...

Unfortunately I can't be much help as I have never had anything but problems with OMSA and ESXi going back many different versions. At one point I had it working but it is broken again as of 9.2. I installed the 9.2 VIB and the 9.2 Windows X64 client and now when trying to login to the ESXi host, I always get "login failed: connection error". This is not a new problem as you can google it and see lots of people getting the same error on many different versions. I have tried everything I could find which includes:

turning off the ESXi firewall

many different browsers (IE,Chrome,Firefox)

many different OSes (Windows 2012,Windows 7)

Uninstalling the Windows x64 client and reinstalling (please note that it will not install by itself unless 9.1.x is already installed) so I had to install the 9.1.x Windows x64 client first and then install 9.2.0 which it detects as an upgrade.

My frustration with this product is over the top. OMSA always seems to have some gotcha and breaks on every single new version. Unless someone has some magic for fixing the "login failed: connection error" error, I think I am giving up on OMSA completely. It just never seems to work as expected.

Thanks, but that doesn't install on Windows 10... I was looking for something like this: OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-WINX64-9.1.0-2757_A00.exe Or Windows clients won't be supported anymore?

Where have you downloaded the 9.2 client?

The fact is that I have OpenManage 9.1 installed on my PC... And it says that it doesn't support my OS.

That's what I said in an earlier post. 9.2 won't install unless 9.1.x is already installed.

Are you using Dell ESXI6.7 OS image? In that case you don't need to update any specific driver to monitor PERC controller. Also you can check and confirm, the alerts are updating in storage -> Check Alert Log page in OMSA.

@Taysandman,

Thanks! I installed last week the OMSA 9.2 and the VIBs for 6.5 and 6.7 on my ESXi hosts.

All of them are working now!

Thanks a lot!
