3040 Micro M.2 Slot for nvme

Can anyone authoritatively say whether or not the M.2 slot in the 3040 Micro can be used for nvme ssd? First, it is not listed in a compatibility sheet at https://www.dell.com/support/article/ca/en/cadhs1/sln308295/m-2-nvme-device-specifications-and-upgrade-requirements-for-precision-optiplex-latitude-and-xps-systems?lang=en , secondly, in the 3040 Micro Spec sheet there is the notation ''1 M.2 (22x30mm) (Wireless only)".

I know the larger models 3040 are OK, and the 3050 and up are OK.

According to this support page, the only internal accessible drive is a 2.5" SATA drive. And this page from Crucial of compatible components would seem to confirm the specs.
