5040 mouse & keyboard not working
Neither my mouse nor keyboard are working when plugged into my optiplex. I have tried turning it on and off, blowing on it, trying different mouses and boards, all to no avail. It was working fine 2 hours ago. I then unplugged it briefly while cleaning. When I went to turn it back on, nothing was working. Please advise.

Thank you, but I have already tried those solutions with no change. Is there anything else I could possibly do?

If it's still not working, then the OS may have become corrupted. You can use the reinstall media you created when you first set up the machine or an OS disk you may have already. Be sure you've backed up all your data prior to an OS reinstall.
