7040 Micro, and really high video resolution
My Optiplex 7040 Micro has 3 Video ports, Display Port (don't know what version), HDMI (don't know what version), and VGA. Currently I am running successfully a Samsung 2343 @ 2048*1152 on the Display port, and adapted to DVI. (the monitor only has DVI and VGA) and also an older Dell E248WFPb @ 1920*1200 on the VGA port.
I am thinking about replacing the Samsung with an Acer K272HUL @ 2560*1440 (2k)
Will the Optiplex 7040 Micro onboard video be able to handle that? Also with the 1920*1200 on the VGA port?
The Acer is on sale, and gets really good reviews.

I guess a better-worded way of putting it, is "does the O 7040 Micro support 2k Video resolution (2560*1440) through all it's video ports (DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA) or only certain ports, or none at all?"

Well, if anyone cares to know, the Optiplex 7040 Micro does indeed support the Acer 2k (2560x1440) monitor via DisplayPort.

VGA Analog and DVI do not support 2K. Even if your system supports it the video will become VERY Glitchy at 2k and up resolution. Even 1080p will be an issue.

Yes, I would think so.
However, what you can do with the HDMI port is questionable (on anything other than 16:9 1080p at 60hz).
VGA is really only for low-res stuff these days (but works in a pinch).
