7040 Micro, and really high video resolution

My Optiplex 7040 Micro has 3 Video ports, Display Port (don't know what version), HDMI (don't know what version), and VGA.  Currently I am running successfully a Samsung 2343 @ 2048*1152 on the Display port, and adapted to DVI.  (the monitor only has DVI and VGA) and also an older Dell E248WFPb @ 1920*1200 on the VGA port.

I am thinking about replacing the Samsung with an Acer K272HUL @ 2560*1440 (2k)

Will the Optiplex 7040 Micro onboard video be able to handle that?  Also with the 1920*1200 on the VGA port?

The Acer is on sale, and gets really good reviews.

Thanks

I guess a better-worded way of putting it, is "does the O 7040 Micro support 2k Video resolution (2560*1440) through all it's video ports (DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA) or only certain ports, or none at all?"

Well, if anyone cares to know, the Optiplex 7040 Micro does indeed support the Acer 2k (2560x1440) monitor via DisplayPort.

VGA Analog and DVI do not support 2K. Even if your system supports it the video will become VERY Glitchy at 2k and up resolution.  Even 1080p will be an issue.

7040 Micro
Technical Specifications
Processors Intel® 6th generation Core™ i5 35W MAX Skylake
Chipset Intel® Q170 Chipset

IF you have Intel® Core™ i5-6200U you have

INTEL HD 520 Graphics.

2,048 by 1,536 pixels at 85 hertz is max for VGA Analog

single-link DVI connector can display a maximum resolution of 1920×1200

dual-link DVI maximum for that same screen is 2560×1600.

Display PORT 1.4 / HDMI 2.0 is required for 2K / 4K at 30hz

and games at this resolution will be 2 FPS using INTEGRATED Video.

Max Resolution Max Resolution (DP) is the maximum resolution supported by the version of processor via the DP interface (24bits per pixel & 60Hz). System or device display resolution is dependent on multiple system design factors; actual resolution may be lower on your system.

DisplayPort with HDCP Version 1.2

Yes, I would think so.

However, what you can do with the HDMI port is questionable (on anything other than 16:9 1080p at 60hz).

VGA is really only for low-res stuff these days (but works in a pinch).
