Can i fit a Nvidia GTX 1050 ti in my dell optiplex 7010 sff
I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and the gtx 1050 ti seems to be the best option. At the moment my optiplex 7010 sff has a gt 1030 in it. Will the 1050 fit in its place?
Thanks for the help

7010 SFF has INSUFFICIENT POWER to run a 75W card.
GT1030 is max.

why not show a link to your new GPU card,
you sad fit so I not repeating power issues , seen on the topic endless here, power must sufficient.
there are 12 makers of cards and many different 1050 made (speed, power used, VRAM size , and fan counts and more(go to newegg.com type 1050 TI and gander there.
well only the low profile cards might fit 79mm tall.
and many SFF are very hard to fit many cards, and you can see that looking inside did you look first? or ask us to look?
THE DELL GUIDE SHOW (MANUAL) 6.6 x 3.35 / 16.764 x 8.5 6.6" LONG MAX. 1GB
AMD RADEON™ HD7570
WHAT i DO USE USE A RULER SET IT THERE AND MEASURE MAX LENGTH, DELL DOES NOT SPEC LENGTH Ever (JUST DELL CARDS)
Look carefully some GPU will hit the ram slots, see that? SFF really stink as an upgrade platform. why own it?
why not buy a real PC,? (MT)

only 1 card there 170mm or less, use a ruler tell newegg what you want.
even what ports, and all that, see the left side bar, all that, bingo Pick what YOU want.
after size fits.

75W cards need 23 AMPS power and 150W combined for 3.3v/5v rails
So BARE Minimum working power supply OUSTIDE the case is EVGA 700BR
B2 BQ N1 W1 versions from the same vendor do not work because only 20 amps and 130W is available for the PCI-E slot.

I have recently taken the insides of my Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF and put them into the Corsair 4000D Airflow.
My thought process was that I could hook up a beefier power supply to the system.
when the dust settled, the problem I was experiencing when running off of dell's proprietary 240W power supply persisted. The Display still blinked under a full load.
Just yesterday, I swapped the 1050 for a 1060 (3gb) and note, with this full sized gpu, you get an external power connection! So I took advantage of both the extra space afforded me by the new case, and the external power connection on the gpu, and simply put, NO MORE BLINKING.
Many of you who are more knowledgeable than I already knew that was going to happen, but for those who like myself ever seek the budget route, take note! prices have changed, but my total at the time came to: $743.78

What game settings and resolution do you play when 1050 gives blinking?
gpu compare high settings (i7-3770). 1060 is a much better card than 1050.

I feel bad for you. I totally understand. I had a random blink on my dual monitors for months. On top of that you have this Speedstep guy above doing everyone a disservice in regards to 1050ti and 240 PSU. Huge disservice btw if your reading Speedstep.
Your blink problem had nothing to do with Dell's proprietary 240W power supply. It had to do with Nvidia's software. All you had to do was go to control panel, under manage 3d settings, under power management mode, set it to Prefer maximum performance.
The only reason why the display blink stopped when you put beefier PSU is because you changed what optimal power meant.
I see this Speedstep guy everywhere. He says above bare minimum is EVGA 700BR and outside the case. I am more dumb than he is but I know better than to listen to that.

Tomorrow, I'm experiment and run my 1050ti on a 180w PSU.
My hypothesis is my system + 1050ti will be running under or at 80% of the 180 watt PSU.
That's being nice too. I highly doubt if it will hit 80%. It's going to be like 63-80% of 180 watts. Either way I am sitting pretty.

He has blinking because of his NVIDIA control panel Power management settings. 240 watt PSU is more than enough for a 1050. Only 50% usage. With 30% left to spare for the 80% rule.
With the bare minimum outside the case recommendation from SPEEDSTEP. It be 16% usage. I got to say it again. Outside the case
